About the Programmer
Center for the Arts Eagle Rock (CFAER) has been providing access to innovative, transformative arts experiences for northeast LA for more than 20 years. The organization was established to strengthen the economic, social, and creative vitality of the community through the arts. CFAER serves its community as a responsive multidisciplinary arts presenter and educator, offering more than 400 arts programs annually. It is known for presenting immersive, transformative arts experiences, education, and public art projects on both a large and small scale within the Center and throughout spaces in northeast LA that engage the community in unconventional, meaningful, and memorable ways. The Art of Food: A Recipe for Community is curated by Melinda Ann Farrell, in collaboration with multidisciplinary artists Nica Aquino and Sascha Stannard, artisan chocolate maker Zoila Newton, the Los Angeles Poet Society, and chef Christopher Marble.
About the Program
Taking place throughout the Rose Garden, this one-day, all-ages event will bring together members of Los Angeles’ artist and culinary communities to engage participants in a breadth of hands-on activities—involving food, art, and poetry—that relate to the city’s rich and diverse food cultures.
